I Thought

I received 3 letters yesterday. One was from the government - MOE. I thought it was the JAE posting result. I wasn't really freaked out coz I think I'll go to my 1st choice rightfully. But the letter is to inform me how much balance I've got in my edusave account. Duh.

The other letters were from The Air Force. I didn't pay much attention to it. So it ended somewhere it didn't belong actually...

Angbao Luck

Yesterday was Saturday. It was also a busy day. Customers started streaming in after dinner time. I didn't know the approximate time coz I can't wear a watch when working. In the afternoon, there was only a few staff. I almost couldn't manage it. How I wished I could take off my cap and apron and walk away. Ya, two more people came later, but it wasn't of any balance at all, coz more and more customers came in. Some people were asking why their orders hadn't come. Well, they even had to come round to the counter to ask, which means they know we are busy.

Our shop should be very 旺 for the rest of the year coz we had 碎碎平安 and 落地开花 these few days.

A customer gave an angbao yesterday. She placed it along with the unwanted receipt. No wonder I was wondering why she walked so slow. She looked back when I knew of the angbao thing. I smiled back. So sweet of her. I gave the angbao to the manager and she said this is the first time such thing ever happened. And it happened to me. Haha.

I can see Lady Luck waving at me.

If some of you are curious, the angbao consists of four dollars. I wonder what will happen to those money...

Blabber Blahs

I don't want to work full shift today. I don't mind full shift on weekdays, but it's tiring on weekend, coz there are more customers.

I went to buy dinner for my fellow colleagues for the last two days. It was raining yesterday. So I told them I won't go S11 (it is not within J8 and I don't want to get wet). That stupid pikachu said, "Raining meh?" Of course raining lah. I lie to you for fun is it... Then she told me to bring umbrella in those kind of 欠扁 tone. I told her I don't have one and walked away. She then asked who has umbrella. So what if you have? Who cares...

Lousy Senior

Today is the 6th day that I've worked. I feel very tired everytime I come home. A colleague told me that she's been working for more than a month and her legs still ache every time. Her back doesn't ache anymore though but I don't have backache anyway.

These are the photos I took of the outdoors Haagen-Dazs coz many people don't know there are more tables outside. Smokers like it best - smoking table. I've inhaled A LOT of second-hand smoke in. I used to be very angry whenever anyone beside me smokes. But what can I do? They patronize then have more business mah...

Know why so deserted? I took it when the shop is already closed to customers lah...

Many parents leave their children at the playground while they have their ice-cream.

Seniors ought to be more polite. Don't think they work longer so they can boss around. I'm not those who succumb to such status bully. There is one girl whom I don't (bother to) remember her name. I asked for her name and she said whenever I think of pikachu, I'll think of her. Hey! I asked for your name, not what cartoon are you. How old already huh... still pikachu her and there. A glass broke (I didn't break it hor) and I took an aluminum foil bag to pack it and throw away. She saw it and told me to throw it properly and don't leave it lying around. She had those kind of tone that seemed as if I was the one who left the foil bag around. Such angry tone. I 得罪 you meh... Need to study then don't work lah. Where got bring textbook and read during work one?

I bought a pint of Cookies & Cream ice-cream on wed. It was delicious. There was discount, but not a lot. I almost forgot to bring it home coz I had to pay for it early before the counter close and clear up afterwards.

Ate almost half.

Suffer

Few hours more and I'll be suffering. It's not really a torture in general but I'm not those kind who will play catching or whatsoever with kids. And it happens that there are many kids there. Neither am I those who is that interested in other people's lives. Hence, I'll have nothing to do there.

别人的事我没兴趣。

So I'm going to go there and do nothing. Ya, there'll be quite a few TV programmes which I can turn to. But the noise level is that high that I bet I can't even hear the TV.

I've stayed there for quite sometime when I'm young. But I don't feel that that is my home before. I mean, the floor is always dirty and I always have to tip-toe. I find going to the toilet and the kitchen even more troublesome.

OMG.

Chinese New Year

I had a tiring day after going to so many relatives' house. There is one relatives' house which I'm always looking forward to - the one with the dog. Erm... I dunnoe whether it's a male or a female.

Normally, a dog will smell or lick a stranger so that it can remember the person. But this dog doesn't. I think she (should be lah) has got intensive training enough, since we always go there every year. One of my cousin isn't afraid of dogs and she just brushed her fingers from the dog's eye. Phew!

She is eating some yellow fruit. I think she understands hokkien (or maybe it's teochew) coz someone told her to wait in that dialect when she barked at him for being slow...

Happy Chinese New Year! May all dreams come true...

Working

Working at Haagen-Dazs wasn't too bad. The only thing was that we can't go out to have our own meals. I had to work till 11pm on the first day, so I had my dinner there. I told them I wanted chicken rice but I regretted it right when I saw the chicken rice. It was packed in a paper-like-thing, not in the styrofoam box. So I had to place it on the tray and eat from there. =X I ate less than ten mouths and threw the rest away. It was a waste, but it wasn't tasty and the eating area was so cramped and hot.

On the second day, I had to work full time - 11 hours. And I did not sit for a moment at all. I didn't eat coz I don't want to eat at that kind of place so I didn't have any time to rest at all. But still, it was better than eating. It was Valentine's Day and many people ordered fondue. Personally, I think it is not very cheap, but still, many people ordered it. It was very easy to take order. I just had to write fondue all the way...

I was actually scheduled to work today, but I can't coz my leg is very pain. If I carry on wearing that shoe and standing for long hours, I don't have to go out during CNY liao. The next working day for me should be next thursday. Yeah! 1 whole week of break.

Decision

After advices and opinions, I've decided to choose Dip. in Business Management in NYP.

Seriously, I've never ever thought of going to JC. Well, the uniform was one thing. But it wasn't everything. General Paper, was in fact The Thing. I'm afraid I'll flunk it. My brother said Singapore's universities will consider your 'O' level english grade. And I think a B3 in 'O' level is not that bad. I don't want to have, say C5 or below during 'A' level. Language wise, I'm more or less alright. But when it comes to content, I sort of have no ideas. I just don't know how to come up with an interesting story that seems real but isn't. In short, it means I don't know how to lie. What can I do? LOL. I know GP is not about situational writing, but expository ones. Worse. What if the marker finds that there is 25% fiction in it? What if what if...

Maybe I should just stop here, in case my brains go haywire.

In conclusion, poly should be the right choice for me. There should be no reason for me to flunk my poly stuffs.

Think Think Think

Mum asked me this morning what I wanted for getting good grades for 'O' Levels. Well, I opened my mouth without thinking and hesitating, "Dog." Then, we had a small discussion that I can take care of the dog myself, it's not as troublesome as what some idiots have told them, and what's more, I have the passion and love that can conquer all and sorts. Okay, I didn't say the last part out coz it's a bit too mushy to say in chinese for a dog. As usual, everything went no way.

It seems that I need to think of another present to buy. An electronic drum set portable drum set is tempting. But usually, tempts don't get me (or even you) anywhere. Never mind, I can "slow slow think". Duh. I feel as though a 10,000 tonnes load is thrown off my back. I can now watch TV and surf the net without thinking what I'm going to do if results fail me. Yeah. I can throw my books away with a piece of mind liao.

I'm now going through the JAE 2007 booklet. Must it be so thick? Can't they extend the deadline to a week. A week and that will be seven days.

Final conclusion: Going to poly (NYP). Choosing courses from Business, IT and Design. Ya, I'll put Business Informatics in one of my twelve choices, but it'll definitely not be the first.

忍不住想说：I got an A2 for combined humanities! I refuse to think geography pushed me up...

Results Were Satisfying

I got back my 'O' level results back in the afternoon. The results were unexpected. Unexpectedly good, in my standard of course. After the results, we went to have our late lunch at a coffee shop nearby. When we were walking, someone was selling ice-cream along the road. So we bought one each. Chocolate chip flavour for me. Hmmm... Then we ate fishball beehoon soup. I'm like already very hot and that soup is even hotter. Finished off with a bottle of fruit juice.

When I'm preparing to go for my piano lesson, I reckoned I'm left with half of my life. My energies were almost gone and I just wanna feel like sleeping. Before the release of the results, I was still thinking if I'll go to my piano school today and play like a maddie. You know, open the piano lid, run my fingers on all the 88 keys in 30 seconds and end off by slamming down the lid. I'm glad I didn't. Coz that means I'm not disappointed in myself, and all the hard work that I've squeezed in.

Lucky Numbers for this year: 11 and 16. (Hope you know why. Haha.)

Drums Dream

I went to Yamaha Music in Plaza Singapura on Tuesday. I went straight to the end of the shop and began looking at the different drum models. They are all so beautiful and I really wish to bring them all home...

Wow! A red drum. So unique.

First Time, But Hope Not Last

This is the first time that a dog ever stepped into my house. My dad initially wanted the dog to stay outside the house. But I opened the door and seeing no response, I let the dog in...

Hahaha. Hahaha. Hahaha.

My father's client brought her dog to my house yesterday. I'm really in seventh heaven. That dog is an Australian dog. It is a male and is white. When I asked for his name, I heard his owner saying 'Cheryl'. So I said: "Oh, it's a girl..." Then the owner said: "It's a boy lah!" LOL. I must have heard wrongly. Maybe, it's 'Jeriel'. Her pronunciation not clear mah...

He went to my room. My dad gave him one of my toy dog to play and even wanted to let him take home. Luckily, he did not take an interest to it.

Uniform Collection and Training

Okay, I guess I didn't have to write all those words in front of J after all. He didn't lose or misplace my information. My information was just in a stack along with the others who are almost forgotten. Nevertheless, I found mine and is hired eventually. If everything goes well, I'll be starting work on the next Tuesday. Of course under the condition that I don't feel too devastated over my dunnoe-good-or-bad 'O' level results.

After collecting our uniforms, we had to stay back for a 2 hours training. All in all, I stayed in the company for around 4 hours. Yeah, the training was paid, but the rest of the time weren't.

Finding the place:

The person didn't know how to give directions. 7-11 is in the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, not in front of Plaza Singapura. He told us the street name, instead of the building name. Hey, I'm not a driver. I'm not used to finding places by street names.

The bus driver didn't answer our questions. I asked him if the bus-stop that we passed by (and did not stop) is the first one from the bus-stop in front of Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. He said that is one of the bus-stop but he did not stop. Naturally, we thought that was the bus-stop that we should alight but because nobody wanted to get down, so the bus didn't stop. So, we alighted at the "second" bus-stop and walked back to the "first" one. When we were there, it turned out that there wasn't bus 7 or 14. In the end, we had to walk back and found out that we got the bus-stop right. We asked 3 persons for direction, under the sun. Luckily, we reached there on time.

Maybe, I'll have a job very soon...

J* took my information AGES ago during the job interview. And now the other person said they didn't have mine. There is the possibility that he misplaced it. Tomorrow, when I'm collecting my uniform, I'll definitely hound back my information, especially my passport-sized photo. Hey, that photo didn't come easy. But, there's still one thing that may anger me tomorrow -- I'll have to fill up the long interview form again.

*Tomorrow, I'll decide whether to put a "stupid" in front of J and a "effery" behind the J.

NYP Open House

I went to NYP Open House on 25th Jan. Okay, it seems a bit late to post this entry... But, who cares?

There is this chance to win something if you drop the filled up coupon into that box. No chance to win that something liao.


That fountain place looks a bit like a swimming pool. Except that it's just too shallow. You can't even drown... erm, I guess I can't be so cruel to type that out.


These fishes are were (they are probably dead by now) used for testing out their products.
