Jab & Secret Recipe

Met up with April yesterday. First intention was to take my typhoid jab. Second was to meet up and chat. It's a miracle about how I managed to delay my typhoid for almost 2 years. I seriously decided to take it months ago, when I decided that I may be working for even longer. But I'm very paiseh to go office to request for the form mah. But yes, I'm now typhoid-ed! No longer need to worry when they'll discover my little secret. Haha. Anyway, the jab wasn't pain at all. My arm just went very numb a few hours later, especially since I'd moved my arm beyond the 90 degrees bend. Well, thanks April for accompanying me there... if not I may get lost. Haha.

It was almost 3p.m. when I've taken the jab. So walked around to settle for a place to eat.

Went to Secret Recipe @ Forum for late lunch.

Tiramisu is no longer MIA

Worked on Monday. I love working on Mondays, especially when yesterday was a PH. This means double pay! Wahaha. Was supposed to work 6hrs only but I extended to 7hrs. If only I could extend till 8hrs lah. Won't mind working full shift too. Anyway, yesterday wasn't a really busy PH. Maybe because people start to get Monday blues when they knew it was getting nearer to today. Just like me! There's a test so early in the morning today. I haven't even memorized anything and I was still there working. But work was fun. A and I were practically playing, chatting and laughing. We could even chat when my head was in the dipping cabinet while scooping ice-cream. And she's so bad can. Ask me those riddles and stuffs. Luckily I got at least 1 correct. Then we started asking each other whether want 单挑 or 群殴. And many others lah. So time just zoomed past. So fast.

My manager is so good to give each of us a Deepavali (!) gift. A scoop each! But mine was special, coz A packed it for me like a pint. The way, not the size.

My long-lost Tiramisu ice-cream is back in action. The cocoa dusted biscuit is so nice lah. Can fight with my Vanilla Caramel Brownie. Tiramisu is LURVED~

Alright, back to school today. We were so lucky. Amelia, QiuTing, JunHong and I got into the same group for project. By drawing lots somemore. Luckily no need to group with those people. As usual, lesson ended early. QiuTing and I then went to Northpoint to take a look. At least the aircon is stronger now. Haha.

Worked today. Today was busy. But I was quite slack lahs. Enjoyed working with those people today. :)

And I finally redeemed the pint voucher.

Chatted for 3hrs

Had 3hrs lesson break today. So I went shop to slack. It's better than staying in school lah. So I chatted with them for a while and went Tori Q to buy lunch.

Had Bento A (without pork). It's my first time eating their bento set though. And omg can. I ate pickles! I thought the purplish looking slices are sausages. So I put it in my mouth and ask F what it was. Even before I got the answer, a disgusting taste started to disperse in my mouth. Irritating can.

Continued chatting with them. And all the while, I stayed in the backroom. J is so funny can. She opened the freezer to look for papers! Then A scooped the wrong flavour into the cone. So she gave me the cone, without ice-cream lah. Then I was like holding onto the cone and... waiting for the sky to drop, I suppose. A whole cone without anything to go along is so pathetic. Well, she gave me a small scoop in the end. Haha.

Botak Jones

Treated my family to dinner at Botak Jones coz I've earned some money at work. Haha.

"Damn good food at a damn good price."

Since it was a treat, I didn't bother to look at the prices. I can't possibly say the price is not good and treat them to mixed rice instead, right?! Well anyway, it's quite value for money. It's about an average of $10 for one. It could've been cheaper without ordering salmon. But... it's nice leh.

GST is inclusive and there's no service charge. So it's very worth it, especially when they serve food in portions, quality and price that are as good as those in cafes or restaurants.

Black Pepper Chicken. It tasted a 'lil similar to the BBQ chicken wings that my grandma always prepares during our family chalet.


Cajun Chicken. The mozzarella cheese tasted good when you eat it with the chicken.


Fish and Chips. It's so well done that you dun get the fish in small bits when you cut them.


Chicken Gumbo. This was a complimentary soup given to us because we were told that we still need to wait for a while for the salmon to be ready. We totally didn't mind (and know) coz we were enjoying our food. :)


Char-Grilled Salmon Fillet. The salmon is nice, even without the garlic sauce.

Lastly, the spicy fries are definitely worth a mention. They tasted a bit like potato chips in BBQ flavour in certain bites though. Haha.

Just as we were about to finish our food, the whole coffee shop had a blackout. For a few minutes only. I wasn't in the least shocked or scared. I just continued eating, coz blackout happened in our shop for quite many times liao.

I think I'll only freak out if there's blackout in my house coz...

Eh, why like that?! My TV show is still showing leh. Please have commercial break NOW.

Dry Ice Cuts!

Worked today. I guess I'd be around working during weekends in future, until my school break, which is arriving in less than 1 month time.

I used to reach shop and start doing my opening stuffs without much thinking. It's just an everyday process what. But yesterday, I just couldn't remember what I had to do after I'd finished one thing. So I ended up walking here and there. Who ask me not to work for so long...

I got a cut from a block of dry ice, knife and a blue-black on my palm. Today was so busy that I didn't even know when I got those cuts.

J was so good to give me one scoop coz she had to redeem her vouchers. And I was so good to bring it home to share it with my bro.

Vanilla Caramel Brownie and Midnight Cookies & Cream. It's only a single scoop weigh, just that I ownself scooped two flavours. Haha.

First time working with new manager too. He's not bad lah, quite enthu. I like people who will hold the plate and wait for my last scoop then chop chop send order themselves, coz that's what I always do. Haha. D turned one whole round just to find his plate to put his last scoop coz I was holding on to it. Then it was scooping all the way lor. My arms got no more strength in the evening lah.

I extended my working hours from 6pm to 7pm, and then to 8pm. First time got staffs leave earlier than me can. So not used to it. Then everyone started asking me why I was still there after 6pm.

So I was like...

Extend till 7 lah.

and then

Extend till 8 lah.

Then KX asked "Will he later ask you to extend till 9?"

NO NO. 8pm is the final say.

Indeed, it was.

But my 2 kitchen partners were quite good. They knew I haven't had my dinner and was feeling very tired. So they said they dun need me. They kept telling me that I can go home if I want to. These people 口是心非 only lah. Haha.

Eh... you go tell him (manager) you dun need me leh.

They dun want, but they finally said in the end.

A: Can she go home?
Me: They said they dun want me...
D: Never lor. Where got?
A: She missed her mum.
Me: Ya, I home sick.

All kinds of reasons-cum-excuses only. Anyway, I was a good friend and stayed till 8pm.

I ended up in practically sleeping through my shows can.

No school today. So basically I continued my routine of watching TV and surfing the net. Should have worked today lah, then can skip the busy weekends. Well anyway, talk about work. I saw a picture while surfing. Must share with you guys...

I think the person who thought of this idea is damn creative can. It makes me feel that all pints contain noodles and it'll make me hungry whenever I see them during work. Haha.

No 3hrs break!

Today was supposed to be an unhappy day because there was supposed to be a 3hrs break in between lessons. But it turned out the other way. Our lecturer wasn't feeling well and the lesson was cancelled. Haha. There will be a make-up lesson on Friday though. But no matter how, there won't be a 3hrs break.

My lecturer is a angmoh. And he chose me to be the group leader can. I just sat there and didn't even look at him. So random lah. But anyway, his lessons are not that bad. A bit entertaining at times too. A better to way to spend every 3hrs lesson...

Went shop to get some stuffs from Janice after school. Dunno why suddenly got 3 big tables of customers. Too bad I can't help. And that Jovin hor... got a walking 武林密集 (recipe book) in front of you also dun want to ask. Ask me is faster than flipping those papers, you know. Oh... and thanks Janice for giving me a scoop of Vanilla Caramel Brownie when I only wanted a small mouth. Hehe. :)

Jason's Farewell

Went for our HD manager, Jason's farewell in shop on Saturday night. We had fun... taking photos, eating, joking, chatting, etc. He even came to shop with his name tag and cap. Last time wearing le bah.
